The Problem
A major vehicle dealership and repair group required the supply and installation of 14 modular wash bays together with 5 integrated water recycling and treatment systems across multiple sites in the Middle East.
The systems were required for newly constructed vehicle dealership facilities incorporating:
- vehicle showrooms
- below-ground storage areas
- detailing facilities
- high-throughput vehicle preparation operations.
The customer required a fully contained wash bay solution capable of:
- high-volume daily vehicle processing
- automatic water treatment and recycling
- minimal operator maintenance
- reliable long-term operation in demanding conditions.
As local sewage infrastructure was limited, 75–85% water recycling efficiency was essential because wastewater disposal relied on tanker removal.
The installations were carried out across facilities in:
- Abu Dhabi
- Dubai
- Kuwait
- Bahrain.

The Solution
Eco Technical Services Ltd designed and supplied a fully above-ground modular wash bay and water recycling solution tailored to the customer’s operational requirements.
The system included:
- fourteen 4.3 metre wide x 7 metre deep modular steel wash bays
- five integrated water recycling and treatment systems
- ceiling-mounted jet wash systems
- automatic operational controls
- fast-acting roller shutter doors
- full wash water retention and recycling capability.
The wash bays were connected via building pipework to centralised water reclaim and collection systems.
The treatment systems were specifically designed for:
- high vehicle throughput
- reduced water consumption
- ease of maintenance by local engineering staff
- reliable long-term operation.
The modular above-ground wash bay design also eliminated concerns regarding water penetration into the concrete structure of the multi-storey buildings.
Installation Process
The wash bay systems were manufactured in the UK before being loaded into open shipping containers and transported to the Middle East.
The water treatment systems were pre-assembled and pre-commissioned within insulated equipment rooms before shipment using high-cube container transport.
Once delivered to site, the systems were unloaded using local cranes already operating within the construction programme.
Custom installation jigs were fabricated to allow the wash bay systems to be manoeuvred safely through the active construction sites using on-site forklift equipment.
Following positioning, the systems were connected to the services prepared by the customer and commissioned as part of the wider construction programme.
The installation programme was completed over a three-month period across the multiple sites.

The customer achieved fully operational and environmentally compliant wash bay facilities integrated into their new dealership operations across multiple Middle Eastern locations.
